- From The Daughters of the American Revolution: William Rideout (1759-1831) enlisted at Falmouth, Me., and while in the service lost his eye sight with small pox. In 1790, he was placed on the Invalid Pension Roll. In 1818, his pension was increased in Kennebec Co., Me. He was on the Militia Roll in 1820 of No. Yarmouth, Me. When he died in 1831, his wife was afterward allowed pension in 1849, at the time she was 79 years and resided at Cumberland, Me.
