He took the oath of allegiance in 1678; aged 22.
He was admitted freeman 13 Feb. 1683-4.
James Jackman was admitted to Newbury church in 1683 and Rachel Jackman in 1697.
In tax rate for 1688 he and his father are listed together as having “1 Head - 2 houses –
6 acres Plow land - 9 meadow - 2 pastr - 2 horses - 4 oxen - 4 cows - 3 3yr old - 2 2yr old 15 sheep - 5 hoggs
April 14, 1718 James Jackman and Rachel Jackman were among the heirs of Rev. Nicholas Noyes of Salem who appointed Cutting Noyes and James Noyes attorneys to sell real estate etc. (ED 33:218)
I suppose that he was the Serg James Jackman who had command of the forces under Lt. Coll Thomas Noyes 15 July 1707 (Reg. 1-341)
