Funeral services for Don Noyes were conducted from the Bethel church Thursday afternoon, June 6th. Reverend Dayton Cundiff, pastor of the Brethren Church in Beaver City, assisted by Reverend E.B. Kentfield, officiated at the last rites.
Don D. Noyes was born to Joseph and Martha Noyes on November 26, 1880 near Hooksburg, Ohio. He departed this life June 3, 1963 at the home of his nephew, Ralph Rhodes, in Dresden, Kansas, at the age of 82 years, six months and seven days. He was the eleventh of 12 children; two brothers; two brothers, Howard and Paul; one sister, Nina; three half-brothers and five half sisters.
In 1891 he moved with his mother to Stamford, Nebr. in 1893 he moved to Dresden, Kansas where he farmed about 50 years. He moved to Almena, Kansas in 1950 where he lived until his death.
He was preceded in death by all his half-brothers and sisters; his full brother, Howard; his full sister, Nina.
He leaves to mourn his passing his brother Paul and wife, Nina; his sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary (Howard) Noyes; of the immediate family; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends which he acquired through his jovial attitude. He became a member of the Methodist church in Dresden where he retained his membership until his death.
The men's quartet of Steve Sturtevent, Reverend Dayton Cundiff, Clay Fletcher and Reverend James L. Thomson furnished the music for the service.
They were accompanied by Mrs. G.J. Ackerman.
Interment was made in Deaver Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ralph Coffey, Wendell Coffey, Tully Wolf, Darel Perkins, Chas. Williams and Carl Mullis.)
