Notes:
Walnut Grove Cemetery began in the mid-1850s as a two acre plot on land owned by William S Myers on the east edge of town. It passed from the control of the Aehle family in 1880 to a corporation formed by Charles C Bell. Additional land was added over the years. Today the cemetery includes 21 acres and, according to Robert L Dyer's Burying Ground: Boonville, An Illustrated History, nearly 8,000 people are buried there.
