- (OBIT: PRICE - Melvin L. Norton, age 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family on June 1, 2000.
He was born May 25, 1913 in Carry, Ida., to Lafe and Vida Matthews Norton. He married Edna Noyes in Wellington on June 17, 1933 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordon River LDS Temple on June 17, 1983 on their 50th anniversary.
He was a member of the LDS Church and loved missionary and temple work. He had a love for hunting, fishing and photography.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Edna; children, Ted (Donna) Norton, Fairview; Bob (Carol) Norton, Salt Lake City; Dale (Ardiene) Norton, Wellington; and Carolyn Brady, Price; Also 15 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Brothers and sister, Darrell Norton, Overton, Nev.; Ross (Melene) Norton; Bruce (Gwenda) Norton, Donna (Dale) Jensen, all of Wellington; two sister-in-laws, Elaine Norton, Wellington; and Irene Rachiele, Price. He was preceded in death by parents; two brothers, Glen and Carl; sister, Vivian, grandson, Allen Brady; and great-granddaughter, Shantell Spring Tweedell.
Friends may call for a visitation at the Fausett Mortuary in Price on Sunday, June 4, 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Price 6th LDS Ward Chapel on Monday, June 5, 12 p.m. with a visitation at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Wellington City Cemetery.)
