    • (OBIT: Died. Mrs. Francis Mabie, at the home of her father in this city, Tuesday April 7, 1896, of consumption aged 39 years.

      Mrs. Mabie was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Smith and has spent most of her life in this city. She leaves a husband, Mr. Wm. Mabie and six children. The funeral occurred Wednesday at the M. E. church the Rev. Mr. Scott officiating in the absence of the pastor. The interment took place in this city.

      Mrs. Geo. Mabie died at the home of her father in this city, about two o'clock Tuesday morning April 7, 1896 after a long and painful illness. Her suffering were born with truly christian patience and resignation, she was conscious to the last and died in the true faith and peace of a Christian.

      The deceased was 39 years, 8 months and twelve days old, and leaves a husband and large family of children, together with numerous friends to mourn her departure. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:45 at the home of Mr. Smith on Railroad Street and 2 o'clock at the M. E. church; Rev. Scott will officiate in the necessary absence of her pastor.

      We desire to express our heartfelt thanks to those ladies who have been so kind to us in the sickness and death of Mrs. Mabie, for their unceasing attention and help; to the three teachers and scholars of the school who sent flowers, to the singers who so acceptably served in the funeral exercises and to those who provided carriages for the mourners.
