- He came to America with his father in 1635 and had grants of land in Kittery, 1674, 1676, 1677, 1684, 1685, 1692, 1693, and 1695; grand juror and constable in 1670.
It is related that when he went to Boston his carriage was a chair placed on an ox-cart drawn by a yoke of steers, as there was not a carriage in Kittery strong enough to carry him. He was a large man, weighing three hundred and fifty pounds.
