- (OBIT: Samuel Morin, Sr. of Glastonbury, CT and formerly of Caribou, died suddenly in a Hartford, CT hospital, July 3rd. He was born January 25, 1906, at Edmundston, NB, the son of William Joseph Morin and Eugenie Marie Pelletier Morin.
Mr. Morin attended Perham schools and was a member of the Holy Rosary church. He was employed by the City of Caribou for seven years and by Consolidated Cigar Co. for the past eight years. He was also a former member of the Caribou Fire Dept.
Surviving are his wife, Beatrice of Glastonbury,CT; nine sons, Bernard, Richard, Darrell and Roger of Glastonbury, CT, Samuel of Albequerque, NM, Galen and Roland of Caribou, Philip of Waterbury, CT, and Alton of Naugatuck, CT; four daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Phyllis) Green of Caribou, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Bishop of Hawaii, Mrs. George (Mary) Grimes of Glenburnie, MD, and Mrs. Ronald (Nancy) Martin of Canton, CT; four brothers, Perly and Albert of Caribou, Fred of Glendale, FL, and Frankie of Westbrook, ME; three sisters, Mrs. Rita Gustouski of Caribou,Mrs. Nicholas (Mary) Riss of Meriden, CT, and Mrs. Lincoln (Irene) Beaulieu of Coventry, CT; 40 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 6th at Holy Rosary Church with the Rev Msgr Armand Cyr officiating.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Collins, Albert Gahagan, Emery Ireland, Llewelyn Elliot, Donald Woods and Lauren Demerchant, all members of the Caribou Fire Dept. Burial was in Holy Rosary Cemetery.)
