- (OBIT: Emmie McCubrey Caribou 88. Wife of the late Charles McCubrey died 6-14-1992 in Caribou after a long illness. She was born in Presque Isle 1-17-1904 the daughter of Jacob and Millie (Nicholson) Smith. She attended the Aroostook State Normal School and was a school teacher in the area before marrying her husband, Charles in 1926. She was a member of the Caribou United Baptist Church and the Florence Mashall Mission Circle of the church. She also served as the White Cross chairman of the missionary society for the Baptist church for many years. She is survived by 1 son and daughter in law, Gerald and Edwina McCubrey of Caribou, 4 grandchildren, Duane and Daryl McCubrey of Caribou Quentin McCubrey of Anchorage, Alaska and Belinda "Lindy" McCubrey of Epson, NH., 5 great grandchildren, Charles, Janis and Amanda McCubrey, Melinda McCubrey and Steve Eaton. Burial Evergreen cemetery.)
