Notes |
- Gordon Max Noyes was an ambulance driver in WWI. He died, date unknown, about the end or just after WWII, when he fell downstairs at Ashton's Drug Store, on the site of the
former Amos Oscar Noyes drugstore which burned in the conflagration of May 9, 1894, which consumed most of Norway's main street. Gordon Max was a drunkard in the end of his life, though in good health otherwise. He may have predeceased his father and hence the reason Della inherited the deed to some Noyes Mountain property. If Gordon Max was born in 1892 or just after, the time would have been right for him to be a WWI soldier. The 1900 U. S. A. census listed him as Max Gordon Noyes and he was called "Max" by the townspeople.
