- (OBIT: Oscar L. Green, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 after a brief illness at Belen Meadows Nursing Home in Belen, NM. Oscar was born on April 24, 1927 in Bowdoinham, ME to the late Roy Green and Rosetta Brown. Oscar moved to Caribou, ME as a young boy and was educated in the Caribou Schools. Oscar proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II in Germany. Oscar was a hard worker as a stationary engineer for the Northern Maine Potato Industry for 45 years. Oscar retired from McCains in 1992. Mr. Green was life member of the VFW, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1870 as a 4th degree. Oscar enjoyed many recreation activities, skiing summer and winter with his family over many years. Oscar was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Doris Cyr Green in 2006, his parents and his daughter, Betty Gorney in 1999. Oscar is survived by his five children, Roy Green and his wife, Jeanne Chapman Green of Presque Isle, ME, Linda Green of Plainville, CT, Jean Green Wagner of Belen, NM, Nancy Green Vincent and her husband, Roger of Davenport, FL and Phillip Green of Springfield, MA, 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Oscar will be remembered by his good friends, Marie and Dave Wilcox and Pit and Christine Theriault of Caribou, ME. Funeral Services will be held during the spring in Caribou, ME. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Belen Meadows Nursing Home, 1831 Camino Del Llano, Belen, NM 87002.)
