He prepared for college in the schools of his town and entered the University in September 1903, graduating B.S. in C.E. in 1907.; was a corporal, sergeant, 2nd Lieutenant and Captain, Company A, in the corps of cadets, was an assistant editor of the "Reveille"; member of Theta Chi fraternity.)
