- (OBIT:
For Many Years a Well-Known Resident of Haverhill.
For Some Time Past Engaged in Real Estate Business in Boston
Byron Noyes, for years one of the leading business men of the city, died at his home, 2326 Washington street, Boston, last evening, after an illness of several months' duration. Mr. Noyes was a native of Atkinson, N.H., but spent practically all of his life in this city, coming here when a young man. At the outbreak of the civil war he was living in his native town and enlisted in the company which was formed there, rising from the ranks of a private to that of a sergeant. After the war he came to this city and engaged in the shoe manufacturing business. He was senior member of the firm of Noyes & Tabor for several years and was also in business for himself. Several years ago he retired from active business life and about four years ago moved to Boston, where he engaged in the real estate business. He was a member of the Grand Army and the Pentucket club. He leaves a wife and two daughters, Mrs. Clarence Stickney of Keene, N.H., and Mrs. Wilfred Squire of South Boston. The funeral services will be from his late home.)
