    • (In the name of God Amen the fifth day of February 1756 I Joseph Dole of Newbury in the county of Essex and yeoman being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God therefore Calling unto mind the mortality of the body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye do make and ordaines this my last will and testament that is to say princepally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and my bodey I recommend to the earth to be buried in Christian Burial at the discretion of my executrix nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receve the sam again by the mighty powr of God And as touching such worldly estte wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give demize and dispose of the same in the following maner and forme imprimises I give to my well beloved daughter Hannah Dole on third part of all my estate both rel and parsonal rights and tenements in Newbury or Elsewhere and to her heirs for ever. Item I give to my well beloved daughter Mary Woodbridge and to her children one third part of all me real estate in Newbury or elsewhere and one quarter part of my mufouble estate and household goods and further this my will is that so long as that my said daughter Mary shall live in my house with her two sisters my executrix what I have given to here as above expressed shall be under the care and husbandries and improvement of my said executrix to the best profit and advantage and for the support and comfort of my said daughter and her children. Item I give to my well beloved daughter Lydia Dole one third part of all my real estate both real and personal rights and tenements in Newbury or elcewhere and to her heirs and assigns for ever. And furthermore I give to my above said daughters Hannah Dole and Lydia Dole whom I likewise constitute make and ordain my soul executrix of this my last will and testament the resedew of my estate that I hath not disposed of before by thim freelly to be posessed and enjoyed and I do hereby uterlly disallow revoak and disannul all and every other former tetaments will legacies and bequests and executors by me in any way before named willed and bequeath rattifing and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.     • It is believed that Joseph and Lydia had no son who lived to adult years. He lived and died at "Oldtown". The date of his death not ascertained.

      In the settlement of Richard Dole’s estate by his heirs on Sept. 6, 1723,there was “allowed and Set out to ye said Joseph Dole in full his proportion of sd Estate: The Houseing and Lands where he now dwells With ye orchard thereon and ye Appurtinances thereof as ye same is Bounded: viz: by ye sd Stephen acre Northirly &c; allso ye Tan yard Books House Pitt and all ye utencil for Taning: allso all ye wood & Timber wch belonged to our Sd father In ye Neck Called Noyes Neck according as ye name is Setled & Bounded: and one third Part of ye Wood and Timber & Land Bought of Jno and Jonathan Thorla according to ye deed thereof In Quantity and Quality; and one third part of ye wood Lott that Were Layed out to ye Rights belonging to our said father: and ye one Half of ye Wood Lott bought of Benjamin Brown: allso one third Part of the Rights In ye Genell Pastures Called ye Hill Pasture and ye Pine Island Pasture that belonged to our sd father: allso one third Part of the Right In ye Comon Lands in Newbury and Elsewhere & of ye undivided Land and of all other land that In time to Come may Appear to be ours: allso that Piece of marsh Land Called Rolfes meadow: ye Remaindor of it beside what Jno:& Stephen hath of it; and one third part of ye piece of Marsh land near Easton Creek as to Quantity & Quality: at the Easterly Cornore next ye River allso one Half of our sd fathers Rights In ye Pasture upland and meadow as, ye same is determined by ye Comittee at Ipswich: and one third Part of ye thatch Island at ye neck over ye River: also one third part of ye upland & Wood and Timber at Plumb Inland In Newbury & Rowley Bound that belonged to our said father: all which premices are to be and Remain to him ye said Joseph Dole and To his heirs and Executors.
