- Irene Drake, 87, died Nov. 13, 1992, at Caribou following a brief illness.
She was born at Van Buren, July 6, 1905, the daughter of Amos and Marie (Roy) Madore. She attended Van Buren schools and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Washburn. She married her husband Evard Drake on Aug. 24, 1920.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of Washburn are, five sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Pauline Drake of Washburn, Wilbur and Georgia Drake of Orem, Utah, Allen and Phyllis Drake of New London, Conn., Rodney and Charlene Drake of Ashland and Melvin and Janet Drake of Presque Isle; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Marie Foote of Dundee, Fla., Lillian and Vernal Curtis of Orono, Betty and Albert Berglind of Ocala, Fla., and Helen and Fredrick Tompkins of Wade; one sister, Mrs. Bruno (Annie) Angotti of Millinocket; 28 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Oden Foote of Dundee, Fla.
Funeral services were held Nov. 16, in the chapel of the Mockler Funeral home, Caribou, with Mrs. Drake's son, Elder Wilbur A. Drake officiating. Pallbearers were Robert Quinn, Matthew Doody, Andrew Turner and Ronald Curtis. Interment took place at the Riverside Extension Cemetery, Washburn.
