- (OBIT: Laurel W. Garber, age 75, of Tipton, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia. He was born September 26, 1936, in Versailles, Missouri, the son of the late Daniel and Elma Aeschbacher Garber.
On September 28, 1956, in Versailles, he was united in marriage to Shirley Noyes, who survives of the home.
Laurel was a retired linesman working for Co-Mo Electric for 11 years, and Ameren for 31 years.
Some hobbies he enjoyed during his retirement were: attending tractor pulls, camping, collecting trains, and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He was also an avid sports and racing fan.
Laurel was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church in Fortuna.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, three daughters, eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two sisters and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, and his brothers, Vernon Garber, and Daniel Clifford Garber.)
