Betty has been poorly all winter but I hope she will be better in time.
Her husbands name is John Wildman. He came from Bentham. They have one child born on the 1st of Feb., 1823 a very fine girl and her name is Betty too. They live in a part of my house and they rent the low fields from me and he also weaves. Margaret Willan )))
"If they were living in part of Margaret (Hayton) Willan's house, then Elizabeth would have been born at Millbeck, Yorkshire. Millbeck was passed from generation to generation in the Willan clan going back at least back to will of the widow Mabel Willan in 1620. Following the death of Margaret (Hayton) Willan, with no Willan male heir, the property was sold out of the family. John Wildman may have been expecting to buy the property. That it was sold to someone else was likely a factor in John's decision to emigrate with his family to Ontario." - Gar Watson
