[NEHGR Vol. 13] "Deposition of Jas. Barbidge, of North Yarmouth, Maine, June 22, 1730". From this article it appears that James Barbidge or Babbidge, a husbandman, then residing at North Yarmouth, was born about 1697, at Uffculme, Devonshire, England, that he is Son of James Babbidge. & Prudence his wife, That he left Topsham about Thirteen Years Since & with Capt John Tallamy Sailed to New England, That when he left Topsham he had a Sister whose name was Tampson, who formerly married to One John Brumfield, who was then Dead, leaving the said Tamson a Widow. That he left behind him When he left above said James Babbidge Desired me, the said Notary, To Publish The Same To all persons Whome the same shall or may concern.

Wills, 4: I: 58] "A true Inventory of .... the Goods Cattles and Creditts of Mr Thomas Huckens Deceased Apprised att his house in Barnstable" 10 February, 1679, "by Joseph Laythorp and Barnabas Laythorp". "2 silver spoones" were valued at £1; "Joseph Huckens His prsonall Estate praised to the value of" £14, 7s. The real estate was: "Dwelling house and barne and land belonging to it" £220; "Coopers Necke of land" £40; "the land att Cotuitt" £40. "the land att Wequoitt" £9; "the land above the meeting house" £4; "the reversion of John Coopers land" £50; "the meadow att Sandey neecke" £5. Debts amounting to £464, 15s., were due the estate. The total of the inventory was £1014, 2s.
The estate was indebted £14, 19s.
"And to Goodwife Bourne" £15 "pr anum During her Naturall life".

Deceased had not in his life time soe prfected his last Will .... as hee Intended .... wherby many questions and Debates were like to arise for prevension wherof. and for a finall quiets and Amicable settlement of his estate .... amongst those that were Concerned therin and have right to their prtes therof; it is Mutually and Respectively .... agreed and concluded by and between the said prties Concerned, heer unto subscribed .... with an eye as much as might be to what was his Declared mind and will in his lifetime, though Not fully prfected as aforsaid; viz:

The total amount of the inventory was 1154, 12s. The only real estate was: "Item in housing upland and meddow" £70, "Mr Thomas Huckengs Reserveing alwayes to himselfe the one halfe of the warehouse; with Free egresse and Regress therinto". One forth part of a ketch was valued at £30.
"Hope the late wife of the said John Huckings made oath to the truth of this Inventory this third of March 1678 Before mee Thomas Hinckley Assistant:"

Charles H Talbot was born in Springfield Illinois on May 13, 1845, being the son of William H and Matilda (Envert) Talbot, natives, respectively of Kentucky and Illinois. The father came to Illinois with his parents, who were natives of Virginia, and he learned the blacksmith trade and operated a large blacksmith and wagon shop. He is now dead. The paternal grandfather of our subject was recorder of Sangamon county, Illinois for thirty years. The mother of Charles died when he was fourteen. He was educated in the Springfield schools and at the age of sixteen enlisted in Company K. One Hundred and Twenty-fourth Illinois Infantry, captained by Stephen W. Saunders,and whose colonel was John H. Howe. Mr. Talbot participated in the battles of Ft Gibson, Raymond, Jackson, Black River Bridge, Vicksburg, Benton, and was in the siege of Mobile. He saw three years of hard, active service and conducted himself with display of valor and courage. Following the war he went to work for his uncle and in 1879 he was in the vicinity of Joplin, in mining and other enterprises. In 1893 Mr. Talbot came to Leland and thence to his present place, where he resides on the farm ofhis wife’s mother, Mrs. Noyes.
On April 11, 1889, Mr. Talbot married Mrs. Ruby Baily, widow of Daniel Baily, and daughter of Hiram K. and Susan (Bourn) Noyes. Mr. Noyes was born in Vermont, as also were his ancestors, who were prominent New England Family of Scotch extraction. Mrs. Noyes was born in Canada on March 28, 1820. Her parents had crossed the boarder from Vermont in 1812, the father being a native of Vermont and the mother of Connecticut. Mrs. Noyes was married in Potton, Canada, five miles from the boundary of the United States. She is now living with her daughter and son-in-law, seven miles southwest from Weippe on a homestead which has not yet been platted. Mrs. Noyes has the following children: William G.[Gilman], in Missouri; Sanford W.[Lansford], in Illinois; Louis A., with her; Charles E., in Oklahoma, Frank W., in Missouri; Lucy A., widow of Mr. Young, in Clarke county, Illinois; Rosepha H., wife of Asam Baron, in Indianapolis; Etta M., wife of John Shriner. Mrs. Talbot was born in Ionia county, Michigan, on November 16,1858. | TALBOT Charles H. (I85222)
