Notes:
Calistoga Pioneer Cemetery
Foothill Blvd. Calistoga CA
There is also another cemetery in Calistoga called the "Pioneer Cemetery" and is often confused by out of towners with this one we learned from locals. Even though the sign to this one says Calistoga Pioneer Cemetery, the locals call it the "Old Pioneer Cemetery." They said that clears up the confusion pretty nicely for most folks.
Calistoga's Pioneer Cemetery was Established in 1876 by Judge S.W. Collins. The Rev. Henry Doty Bryant was the first person buried there in May of 1877. Judge Collins also set aside a section of the cemetery for the Grand Army of the Republic, where several Union Soldiers from the Civil War are buried. The Cemetery property was deeded to the city of Calistoga by Mrs. Anne Hooper in May of 1936.
