- "Pansy was born on the Noyes homestead one mile east of Liberal. After graduating from Liberal High School, she attended Southwest Missouri State Normal in Springfield, then taught school in Dade County where she met Charley and married in 1915.
She was active in the Liberal Methodist Church and a 4-H leader for many years. She also gave piano lessons to many girls in the area who could not afford to go elsewhere. Her work with the youth in Barton County is remembered by many.
Pansy loved to garden and always had a large vegetable garden as well as any tree, flower, or shrub she could order from the seed catalogs.
She was fond of most kinds of needlework--tatting, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, etc.--but especially enjoyed making quilts and quilting. Besides making several hundred quilts herself to give to family members and others, she spent many afternoons at the Methodist Church in Liberal quilting as a money-making project for the church."
