Notes |
- He was named for the missionary, Jason Lee, who founded the first Methodist Episcopal Church on the Pacific coast, at Salem, Oregon.
Mr. Noyes was a carpenter and farmer. In 1880 he went to Dakota Territory, and settled on a homestead about six miles from those of the Bunns. His last years were spent at Salem, Oregon, where he was a member of the church founded by Jason Lee at the time of his death.

Jason Lee Noyes built a lovely home compared with most homes built in the vicinity of Erwin at that time. They brought lumber with them to build their home; most homes there were built of sod. He then added to the home and dropped the bay window; the window appears on the Oren Noyes house just across the road. |
