Nathaniel King, James King’s third son, is of interest to the Hunt’s, not only because he married Lydia Noyes, a sister of Trueworthy Noyes, but also because two of his children married two of the children of Deacon Simeon Hunt. He was known as “Elder” King, and was the first Freewill Baptist minister in Tunbridge. The “History of Northfield, Vt. says of him; “Rev. Nathaniel King was born in Hampstead, N.H., April 4, 1761. He married Lydia Noyes of Bow, N.H., who was born August 22, 1778. The lived in Tunbridge until 1838, then moved to Northfield, where they lived for fourteen years. He died in 1852 and his wife in 1869". Lydia Noyes was only fifteen years old when she was married. She had thirteen children, all of whom lived to grow up and all of whom married, and Lydia herself lived to be over ninety. Laurentio Hunt, son of Eliza King and John Hunt, had a list of Elder Kings children which his brother John let me copy. These folks are mentioned often in the old letters from the Tunbridge Hunts which Lydia Hunt Dole gave to Libbie Bailey.
