      Joseph retired from the service 1 January 1781. He applied for a disabled pension 28 January 1809, and re-applied 1 April 1818. [Rev. War Pension Files]

      His obituary was published in The Columbian Centinel 7 July 1824. He was buried at the Greenwood Cemetery, Haverhill, Mass. [Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots]

      The descendants of Joseph Noyes are eligible for membership in the Massachusetts Society of the Cincinnati under the Rule of 1854.
