    • (OBIT: Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 24 for Clyde S. Morgan at the Morgan Funeral Home with the Rev. Leslie Farrer, interim pastor of the United Baptist Church officiating. Mr. Morgan died at his home Wednesday after a short illness.

      He was born at Presque Isle Sept. 1 1888 at Presque Isle, the son of George Melvin and Sarah (Jenkins) Morgan. He moved to Caribou with his parents at the age of 10 and attended Caribou schools. He was a graduate of Doe's Business College at Bangor and of the New England Institute of Embalming in Boston, Mass.

      He had been a licensed mortician here for 55 years, was a member of the Caribou United Baptist Church for over 50 years and was a 40-year member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a past noble grand of the Caribou IOOF, a member of the Caribou Rotary Club, the National Funeral Directors Association, the Maine Funeral Director's Association, and was a past president of the Northern Maine Funeral Directors' Association. He was a partner in the Morgan Funeral Home, the Caribou Theater and the former G.M. Morgan Furniture Co.

      He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Blanche (Pike) Morgan; five daughters, Mrs. Regina Todd, Mrs. Arline Hemingway, Mrs. Dorothy Barnes, Mrs. Ruth Noyes and Mrs. Rex Wyman, all of Caribou; a brother, Ralph Morgan, and a sister, Mrs. Cora Irving, both of Caribou; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

      Interment was in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery.)
