    • Noyes, John.Sergeant, Capt. Jacob Gerrish's co., which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775, to Cambridge; service, 6 days. [Mass. Soldiers & Sailors In The War of The Revolution 11:551]

      Served as Surgeon 1st Conn. commanded by Zebulon Butler in 1778 to the close of the Revolutionary War; from that period he continued in Lyme until his death. Intelligent, patriotic exemplary and skill'd in his profession he was eminently useful throughout life, and left this world greatly lamented by a numerous acquaintance.

      ABL: Surgeon's Mate 4th Massachusetts, 22d October, 1777; Surgeon 1st Connecticut, 1st November, 1779; transferred to 4th Connecticut, 1st January, 1781; retained in Swift's Connecticut Regiment, 3d June, 1788, and served to 3d November, 1783.

Gamaliel Bradford's (12th) regt.; Continental Army pay accounts for service from Oct. 8, 1778, to Nov. 30, 1779; reported promoted to Surgeon in the Connecticut Line; also, ame regt.; muster roll of field, staff, and commissioned officers for April, 1779, dated West Point; also, same regt.; return of officers “now in the Field,” dated Boston, Sept. 20, 1779.
