    • (OBIT: Impressive ceremonies marked the last rites for William H. Noyes, who was laid to rest Tuesday afternoon at Forest Hill cemetery. Although it rained hard most of the afternoon many attended the funeral.

The G.A.R., of which Mr. Noyes was a member, took charge of the service at the house on East Vine Street, with their impressive ceremony. At the Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, of which he was one of the oldest members, conducted the service. Major E.C. Clemons was in charge.

Mr. Noyes, Civil War veteran, died Sunday evening, following a paralytic stroke. He suffered his first stroke a year ago in July, but had recovered and was in the best of health and spirits. He was 80 years old last February 4, a 30 year resident of Minnesota. He served with honor more than three years in the Civil War with the 95th Illinois Regiment going through some of the hardest campaigns of the war.

Fifty five years ago he was married and his wife still survives. He is also survived by a son.)
